Star Wars: A New Hope is returning to the big screen in a special live concert experience across the UK in March 2027, celebrating the film’s 50th anniversary. The full 1977 film will be screened alongside a live orchestra performing John Williams‘ Academy Award-winning score.
Presented by Senbla and Disney Concerts, the tour will visit Sheffield, Birmingham and Glasgow, with tickets going on presale on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 10am ahead of general sale on Friday, October 30, at 10am. The announcement comes as the original Star Wars approaches its milestone anniversary in 2027.
When And Where Is ‘Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert’ Touring?

The three confirmed UK performances are Sunday, March 21, 2027, at Sheffield City Hall; Thursday, March 25, at Birmingham Symphony Hall; and Saturday, March 27, at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Glasgow’s official venue listing confirms that its show is on Saturday, despite an incorrect weekday appearing in some publicity.
Each concert pairs a complete screening of A New Hope with Williams’ original score played live. The film introduced audiences to Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Darth Vader, launching the franchise that would grow across cinema, television and beyond.
When Do Tickets Go On Sale?
Presale access begins at 10am on Thursday, October 29, through participating Disney, Ticketmaster and venue presales. General tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, October 30. Availability and prices vary by venue, so fans should check the official concert organiser and local venue listings for booking details.
For example, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall listing currently shows ticket prices ranging from £37.90 to £82.70, including stated fees. Prices for other venues may differ.
Why Is The Concert Taking Place In 2027?

Released in 1977, Star Wars, later subtitled A New Hope, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2027. The film is also scheduled for an IMAX 70mm rerelease in 2027. Williams’ music is central to the film’s legacy, with its instantly recognisable themes accompanying the Rebel Alliance’s battle against the Galactic Empire. The new tour gives fans an opportunity to revisit the film in a concert hall, with the music performed in synchronisation with the action on screen. Another film-with-live-orchestra event coming to the UK in 2027 is Interstellar Live, with Manchester and London performances planned for May.
