Interstellar Live is coming to The O2 in London on May 23, 2027, with a 65-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performing Hans Zimmer’s score alongside a screening of Christopher Nolan’s science-fiction film.
The event will feature two performances, a matinee and an evening screening, with the complete film shown on the big screen while the musicians play its soundtrack in synchronisation.
Roger Sayer, the organist who performed on the original Interstellar soundtrack, will join the orchestra, conducted by Zimmer collaborator Matt Dunkley.
When Is ‘Interstellar Live’ At The O2?
Interstellar Live takes place on Sunday, May 23, 2027. Doors open at 12.30pm for the matinee and 6pm for the evening performance.
These are doors-opening times. The press announcement does not specify when the screenings themselves will begin.
When Do ‘Interstellar Live’ Tickets Go On Sale?
General sale begins at 10am BST on Friday, September 11, 2026, with tickets available through MyTicket’s Interstellar Live page.
O2 Priority presale opens at 10am BST on Wednesday, September 9, followed by the venue presale at 10am BST on Thursday, September 10.

Who Is Performing Hans Zimmer’s Score?
The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform Zimmer’s Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated music live to picture. Its 65-player line-up includes strings, woodwind and brass, alongside harp, two pianos, two keyboards and percussion.
Sayer’s involvement brings a direct connection to the film’s original recording. Zimmer personally selected him to record the organ parts for the soundtrack, and he will return to that music as the concert’s organ soloist.
The orchestra’s previous film-in-concert productions include Top Gun: Maverick, Skyfall, Gladiator and Back to the Future.
What Is ‘Interstellar’ About?
Released in 2014, Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey as Cooper, a former pilot and farmer who leaves his family behind to join a space expedition as Earth becomes increasingly uninhabitable.
The cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Casey Affleck. The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Original Score.
