The annual gaming event of the year arrived, The Game Awards, hosted by Geoff Keighley. A four-hour-long show that celebrates developers, sharing out awards while also giving updates and announcing brand-new games for the future that’ll excite both gamers and developers.

Geoff Keighley hosting The Game Awards 2025: Every Major Gaming Announcement

This year’s The Game Awards had an impressive line-up of games that were announced. We got a total of two Star Wars games, two Tomb Raider games, many co-op adventures, and so much more that was announced. Take a look below at all the major announcements that took place at The Game Awards 2025.

Capcom Reveals The ‘Pragmata’ Release Date.

Capcom has finally shared a brand new update on Pragmata, the upcoming sci-fi third-person shooter, with a trailer that shares a little bit more on its story while also sharing the release date, April 24, 2026. Alongside the trailer, a release for the Nintendo Switch 2 was announced, with a gameplay demo currently out now on Steam, with it coming later on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.

A New ‘Old Republic’ Game Has Been Announced.

“Fate is in your hands,” as Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic has been officially announced in development from Mass Effect director Casey Hudson, who also originally worked on the original Knights of the Old Republic. It’s a single-player action RPG that’s being developed by Arcanaut Studios for PC and consoles.

Larian Announces ‘Divinity’

Larian has returned to The Game Awards with the announcement of the latest game in the Divinity franchise, titled Divinity. There’s not much news that has been revealed, but CEO Sven Vincke has described Divinity as their ‘biggest, most ambitious RPG yet’.

‘Left 4 Dead’s Mike Booth and JJ Abrams Team Up For New Co-Op Shooter

Sony Interactive Entertainment and JJ Abrams‘ Bad Robot are teaming up with Left 4 Dead veteran Mike Booth to bring 4Loop, the latest 4-player co-op shooter game, which is set in an all-new original world.

Stellan Skarsgård Debuts In His First Video Game

From the creators of Soma comes a brand new first-person game called Ontos, which will be released on PC and console. Its reveal trailer gives off an eerie and creepy vibe, but it has the legendary Stellan Skarsgård providing his voice for the game, which makes it worth keeping an eye on.

A Familiar Face Returns To ‘Resident Evil’

Resident Evil: Requiem is just right around the corner, and The Game Awards brought a pleasant surprise to the ceremony. Fans have been guessing, but now they can rest, as Leon Kennedy has not only been revealed as a character to appear in the game, but he’ll also be playable. It releases on February 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

A Nat 20 Roll! Wizards of the Coast Arrive With A New ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Game

There wasn’t much detail revealed for Wizards of the Coast‘s new game with Invoke Studios, Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons, except for the reveal of the main character, Kaatri, played by Tricia Helfer. Unlike Baldur’s Gate 3, it’ll be a third-person action adventure game.

The Sequel to ‘Control’ Is Finally Here!

The Game Awards surprised the audience by revealing the sequel to Control with an on-stage act before revealing the trailer, which showcased a brand new character with new action gameplay. Compared to the last game, it’s looking a bit more like a hack-and-slash, but Remedy likely has something up its sleeve for when Control: Resonant releases in 2026.

‘Like A Dragon’ Visionary Toshihiro Nagoshi Teams Up With Ma Dong-seok For New Game

If you first mistook this for a new entry in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, don’t worry because it’s from Toshihiro Nagoshi, who had been working on the franchise until Lost Judgement in 2021, where he then left to make his own company, Nagoshi Studio. Ma Dong-seok first appeared in Death Stranding 2 earlier this year with plans to also star in Kojima’s Physint, and now he’s got his third video game role with Gang of Dragon. It seems like Ma Dong-seok is quickly getting accustomed to the gaming world.

HADOKAN! The First Trailer For ‘Street Fighter’ Is Here

The first teaser trailer for Paramount Pictures‘ Street Fighter was revealed at The Game Awards, which shared first looks at Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Cody Rhodes as Guile, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Oriville Peck as Vega, Oliver Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, and Mel Jarnson as Cammy.

The cast all came out on stage to present the award, but before doing so, Andrew Schulz called out the cast of Mortal Kombat 2. The movie might not have the best casting, but it looks campy and like a good time at the cinema.

A First Look At Crystal Dynamics’ New ‘Tomb Raider’ Game

It has been a long wait for a Tomb Raider game, and we’ve finally gotten the reveal of Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the first Tomb Raider game published under Amazon Game Studios. It was originally teased in the Fortnite TGA creative island, and now we all know that the Lara Croft silhouette was for the Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider game that was first announced three years ago. It’ll release in 2027 and will star Alix Wilton Regan as Lara Croft.

A Blast To The Past With Yet Another New ‘Tomb Raider ‘Game

There wasn’t just one Tomb Raider game announced, but two. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis isn’t a remake of the first game but instead is a reimagining of it as her first-ever adventure is brought to a modern audience and used as a likely setup for Tomb Raider: Catalyst. It’ll be released in 2026.

An Unexpected Sequel To ‘Sons Of The Forest’ Takes A Drastic New Direction

The sequel to Sons of the Forest has taken a whole new turn, surprising fans of the franchise as it puts an sci-fi touch onto its latest game, Forest 3. Geoff Keighley said that we were getting an unexpected reveal, and he was completely right. As of now, there is no release date or platform confirmed.

An All-New Original Character Revealed For ‘Invincible VS’

Invincible VS has finally gotten a release date of April 30, 2026, but with that announcement comes the reveal of a brand new character. An original character for the world of Invincible called Ella Mental, who, you guessed it, has elemental powers. The trailer features her whooping Mark’s butt as she wields various elements as part of her kit.

Retro Anime Meets Co-Op Gaming For The Nintendo Switch 2

There has been a trend of co-op games, and it’s great to see a rise in them after the unique Split Fiction. Shapefarm and Kepler announced Orbitals exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, a co-op game which takes the style of retro anime. Not much is known about the game except that it looks amazing.

Two Brand New Heroes Revealed For ‘Marvel Rivals’ Season 6

Marvel Rivals Season 5.5 has just begun with the release of the game’s latest hero, Rogue, who was recently revealed to be a vanguard. As part of Deadpool’s 30th anniversary, we’ve gotten an extremely early reveal of Deadpool as the next playable character for the game as he arrives in Season 6: Night at the Museum, which drops on January 16, 2026. In the animated trailer, we also got the reveal of Elsa Bloodstone, who will drop in Season 6.5. While the voice actor for Deadpool has not been officially revealed, it very much sounds like Alejandro Saab may be voicing the Merc with a Mouth.

Lenny Kravitz Is Bond’s Latest Adversary

The name’s Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz. The latest trailer for 007: First Light shows James Bond having a little bit of trouble before we get the massive reveal that the icon Lenny Kravitz himself is portraying a major character named Bawma in the game. At first glance, he seems like an antagonist, but the game might reveal him to be something more.

‘Saros’ Hits A Delay With New Story Trailer

With unfortunate news, Saros arrived at The Game Awards with a delay from March 20, 2026, to April 30, 2026. To make up for it, we got a look at the story trailer and an announcement that pre-orders have also gone live.

There’s ‘No Law’ With This New Cyberpunk Game

For a split second, it looks like we might’ve received a spin-off to Cyberpunk 2077 at first glance, but take a deeper look, and we get Neon Giant’s brand new sci-fi FPS game, No Law, set in a cyberpunk world that has you snapping necks, shooting guns and jumping rooftops. It’ll release for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

‘Total War’ Is Finally Heading To Warhammer 40K

Total War has had many games in the past with the Warhammer franchise, but Stranger Things‘ David Harbour had the pleasure of announcing that Total War was coming to the Warhammer 40K franchise for the first time with their new game, Total War: Warhammer 40,000. From the little snippet of gameplay that we got at the end of the announcement trailer, it looks insane. It’ll be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

This Is Pod Racing!

Star Wars meets Need for Speed as former devs come together with Fuse Games to deliver a racing game set in the world of Star Wars. We haven’t had a Star Wars racing game since 2002, and it’s safe to say, from the looks of this reveal trailer, we’ve received a massive upgrade. Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be racing onto your nearest console in 2026.

A New Co-Op Adventure In The Form Of Stop-Motion

The Game Awards is a place to showcase creativity, and Kong Orange and WiredFly have done exactly that with their new game Out of Words, which is published by Epic Games. It’s yet another co-op adventure, but this time, it uses stop-motion to showcase its gameplay, and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Capcom Returns With A Brand New ‘Mega Man’ Game

Almost a decade later, and Mega Man is returning to our consoles with his latest game, Mega Man: Dual Override. It returns with its sleek 2D design, and for fans worried they may not still have a PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 by its release in 2027, it’ll be releasing on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

The Creators of ‘Apex Legends’ and ‘Titanfall’ Surprise With A New Fantasy FPS Game

The final announcement of the night was a game by the developers of Apex Legends and Titanfall. Another free-to-play game that takes fantasy elements while mixing them with FPS gameplay. It has riding mounts into battle, spells, swords, guns, and it’s releasing January 26, 2026.
