ReelOutreach Launches Heartwarming Campaign to Bring ‘Superman’ to Kids in Need

ReelOutreach Superman | Popped

ReelOutreach is providing underprivileged children this summer in the Dallas-Forth Worth area a chance to see some of the most exciting movies of 2025. The organisation has launched a new crowdfunding campaign to support a screening of the upcoming DC superhero epic Superman, for children in the area. The campaign has already caught the attention of fans and notable figures, including Superman director and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, who has thrown his support behind the cause.

The DC Studios co-CEO has already donated $1,000 to ReelOutreach’s fundraiser. His contribution helped the campaign soar past the initial $5,000 goal, inspiring fans to rally behind the cause and make the magic of cinema accessible to those who need it most. At the time of writing, the crowdfunding total stands at $8,927 raised, and counting.

Since its founding in 2018, ReelOutreach has sponsored 21 free screenings for nearly 1,500 children, working with groups such as Girls Inc., the Boys and Girls Club, CASA, and Alliance for Children. The initiative brings underserved youth to the cinema, many for the very first time, giving them the opportunity to laugh, gasp, and dream big on the big screen. The non-profit recently held screenings at Grapevine AMC for Lilo & Stitch and Elio, and AMC Firewheel in Garland for How to Train Your Dragon. You can find photos and more information about previous screenings on the official ReelOutreach website.

ReelOutreach is also able to go the extra mile with goody bags and toys provided through partnerships with Jakks Pacific, Hasbro, Mattel, Play Mates, Spin Master, and Funko. Studio partners such as Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios have also supported the group’s efforts, helping host events across Cinemark, AMC, and EVO Entertainment locations.

About ReelOutreach

Founded in Fort Worth by Jordan Maison, Gabriel Barboza, and Matt Malliaros, ReelOutreach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit built on the belief that everyone deserves a night (or day) at the movies, and kids, who have no control over their circumstances, need it the most. Between the ever-rising costs of tickets and concessions, the enjoyment of sitting down to enjoy a film is sadly out of reach for many.

You can support ReelOutreach by visiting their website, or by directly visiting the GoFundMe page here. Superman releases in theaters on July 11. Check out a trailer below:
