Sky and Aardman have confirmed that The Beast of Mossy Bottom will come to Sky Cinema in the UK after its cinema release.
The strongest clue is actually in the way the film was originally announced. In October 2025, Aardman promoted the film as “coming Halloween 2026”, while also confirming Sky Cinema as its UK home. The cinema date was later set for September 18.
That gives Sky a very obvious seasonal window for the at-home premiere. The film is built around Halloween, pumpkins and a monster roaming Mossingham, so keeping it away from Sky Cinema until November or December would waste the strongest part of its marketing hook.
Popped currently predicts that Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom could arrive on Sky Cinema and NOW on Friday, October 30, 2026.
That would give the film a six-week exclusive cinema window before landing at home just in time for Halloween weekend. It also fits Aardman’s earlier “Halloween 2026” wording far better than a later winter release.
For now, October 30 is a Popped prediction rather than an announced date. We will update this article as soon as Sky confirms when the film joins Sky Cinema.

Yes. Sky Cinema films are normally also available through a NOW Cinema Membership, meaning viewers without a traditional Sky subscription should still be able to stream the film.
Sky’s original announcement specifically names Sky Cinema as the UK home, so a NOW release would be expected to follow the same pattern as the rest of the service’s film catalogue.
If the October 30 prediction proves correct, that would also make The Beast of Mossy Bottom one of Sky’s headline family films for Halloween weekend.

There is still a chance Sky could move faster.

The US release is being handled by GKIDS, which will open Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom nationwide on September 18 before a confirmed home-entertainment release later in 2026.
The more interesting question is where the film could eventually stream. There is precedent for Netflix: STUDIOCANAL sold the US rights to A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon directly to Netflix, which released the sequel in early 2020. At the time, Netflix already carried several other Aardman films in the US.
However, The Beast of Mossy Bottom is being distributed differently. GKIDS now controls the US rights, and the distributor has significantly expanded its relationship with HBO Max in recent years. In 2025, HBO Max and GKIDS signed an exclusive licensing deal covering a further package of GKIDS-distributed films, building on their existing Studio Ghibli partnership.
That makes HBO Max arguably the more interesting service to watch this time, although there is no confirmation that The Beast of Mossy Bottom is included in any existing GKIDS package.
Popped currently expects the film to move to digital and home entertainment first in late 2026, with either HBO Max or Netflix the most plausible eventual US subscription homes.
