The Harry Potter Season 2 cast is expanding, with HBO announcing Lenny Rush, Bonnie Hill and Billy Barratt as three major additions to its upcoming Harry Potter series.
Rush will play Dobby, Hill has been cast as Ginny Weasley, while Barratt will portray Tom Riddle.

Lenny Rush will take on the role of Dobby, the house-elf who first appears in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Dobby becomes one of Harry Potter’s most important allies across the series, initially attempting to prevent Harry from returning to Hogwarts after learning that dangerous events are about to unfold at the school.
Rush is known for his work in Am I Being Unreasonable?, which earned him a BAFTA Television Award for Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.
Who Is Playing Ginny Weasley In ‘Harry Potter’?
Bonnie Hill has been cast as Ginny Weasley for the second season of HBO’s Harry Potter, taking over the role from Gracie Cochrane.
Cochrane will still appear as Ginny in the first season, but it was announced in May that she would step away from the series afterwards due to “unforeseen circumstances”. A statement from Cochrane and her family said she had made the “challenging decision” to leave the role following Season 1.
Hill will therefore make her debut as Ginny when the series moves into its adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, where the character takes on a substantially larger role in the story.
She joins a Weasley family that already includes Alastair Stout as Ron, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley and Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley.
Who Is Playing Tom Riddle In ‘Harry Potter’?
Billy Barratt will portray Tom Riddle, the young wizard whose history becomes central to the second Harry Potter story.
Without delving too deeply into spoilers for viewers unfamiliar with the books, Riddle is an important figure connected to the mystery surrounding the Chamber of Secrets and Hogwarts’ past.
Barratt previously starred in Apple TV series Invasion and won the International Emmy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Responsible Child.
‘Harry Potter’ Season 2 Cast Is Already Taking Shape
While HBO’s first season will adapt Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the latest casting announcement confirms preparations are already underway for characters central to the second instalment of J.K. Rowling’s book series.
HBO describes the first season as following Harry after he receives a mysterious letter admitting him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, opening the door to a hidden world of magic, friendship and adventure.
The previously announced cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
They are joined by John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.
Other announced cast members include Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart.
