Inspired by author and former Super Bowl champion Martellus Bennett, Hey AJ! is a vibrant new Disney Jr. animated series that places imagination, music and family at the heart of early childhood storytelling. Blending playful creativity with meaningful cultural representation, the show encourages kids and parents alike to imagine, create and learn together.
Last month, I had the opportunity to sit down with executive producers Martellus Bennett and Michael Hodges to discuss building a show rooted in imaginative play, why music is such a powerful educational tool, and how Hey AJ! was designed as a shared family viewing experience rather than passive screen time, we even had enough time to discuss Disney Parks too, which is always a treat.
