Tom Holland is officially back in the webs. To celebrate production beginning on the next Spider-Man film, Sony Pictures has dropped our first glimpse at the all-new Spidey suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, teasing what’s next for the wall-crawler ahead of cameras rolling this weekend in Glasgow.
Shared on social media on Saturday with a caption reading “Are you ready? – 7.31.2026,” the video featuring Holland followed an earlier teaser, released on Friday, which offered a brief silhouette of the new look. Saturday’s video was a much clearer reveal, showing Holland in his upgraded gear, one that already has fans dissecting every seam, colour shade, and raised webbing.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s new suit draws clear inspiration from the past while pushing Peter Parker into the future. Fans were quick to point out visual nods to both Tobey Maguire’s iconic raised webbing and Andrew Garfield’s texture-heavy look. The base suit appears darker than Holland’s previous iterations, with the shiny blue palette from the No Way Home ending still present beneath the surface. A newly designed spider emblem, sharper and more angular, sits boldly across the chest, as well as some new web shooters.

Spider-Man Lands in Glasgow

Filming officially begins this weekend in Glasgow, with the Scottish city standing in for a major action set piece in the new film. Motorists and residents were warned earlier this week that nearly 60 city centre roads would be closed for up to two weeks due to filming, with pedestrian access also being restricted in key zones during shooting. Numerous set photos teasing a city-wide chase scene have slowly begun to fill up social media feeds, but you will have to look elsewhere for those!
Last month, Holland spoke with Flip Your Wig about shooting in Glasgow and returning to real-world sets:
“We shot the entire film on stages. Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations”
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Brand New Day follows up on the events of No Way Home, as Peter continues to navigate a world that no longer remembers him. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is expected that Spider-Man, Hulk and The Punisher will all come into close combat with one another at one point during the film’s events. It would also not be out of the picture to expect the film to lead into the events of Marvel Studios’ next event film, Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently set to release on December 18, 2026.
Mark Ruffalo and Michael Mando Join The Cast of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

It was confirmed yesterday by The Hollywood Reporter that Mark Ruffalo is officially reprising his role as Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk, marking his first appearance in a Spider-Man solo film. The news was first reported by our good friends at NexusPointNews. Ruffalo last appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and is expected to have a key supporting role in this latest chapter.
Also confirmed is the return of Michael Mando as Mac Gargan, better known to comic fans as the Scorpion. Mando made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2017, and his long-awaited comeback hints at bigger plans for the character. Mando and Ruffalo join a cast that currently consists of returning actors Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, MCU’s very own Punisher, Jon Bernthal, as well as newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026. Check out the first look at the suit below:
