Netflix has officially announced that production has begun in the UK on The Inbetweeners 3, bringing the original foursome back together for another feature film.
Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will reprise their roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper respectively, more than a decade after audiences last saw the characters together on the big screen.
The new film continues the hugely successful Channel 4 sitcom and its two previous feature films, with original creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris returning to write and direct.
Who Is Returning For ‘The Inbetweeners 3’?
All four members of the central cast have been confirmed for the new film.
Bird will return as Will McKenzie, Buckley as Jay Cartwright, Harrison as Neil Sutherland and Thomas as Simon Cooper.
The four actors originally starred together across three series of The Inbetweeners between 2008 and 2010 before making the jump to cinemas with The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011 and The Inbetweeners 2 in 2014.
Beesley and Morris are also returning behind the camera, marking a major reunion for the creative team responsible for the original series.

What Do We Know About ‘The Inbetweeners 3’?
Plot details for The Inbetweeners 3 are currently being kept under wraps, meaning exactly what has brought Will, Simon, Jay and Neil back together remains unknown.
The return nevertheless represents the first new Inbetweeners story in more than 12 years following the release of the second film in 2014.
The original sitcom followed Will after he transferred to the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive and became friends with Simon, Jay and Neil.
Their attempts to navigate school, relationships, parties and adulthood became the basis for three series on Channel 4, with the show subsequently developing into one of the broadcaster’s most recognisable comedy franchises.
The first movie followed the group on a post-school holiday to Malia, while its sequel reunited them for a trip to Australia.
Who Is Making ‘The Inbetweeners 3’?
Alongside Beesley and Morris writing and directing, Claire Jones will produce the film alongside Patrick Holland for Banijay and Mark Lesbirel for Fudge Park Productions.
Caroline Levy, Caroline Leddy, Phil Gilbert, Suzanne Knight, Tom Jordan, Farhana Bhula, Morris and Beesley will serve as executive producers.
How Successful Was ‘The Inbetweeners’?
The Inbetweeners originally aired on Channel 4 between 2008 and 2010 and followed the frequently disastrous experiences of four suburban teenagers as they attempted to survive sixth form.
Across its three series, the comedy became a major ratings success for the broadcaster and received multiple awards before expanding to cinemas.
The Inbetweeners Movie was released in 2011 and went straight to number one at the UK box office, setting what was then a record for the biggest opening weekend for a British comedy.
A second film followed in 2014 and also proved a major box office success.
More than a decade later, the franchise will now return with its original stars and creators.
