The White Lotus has become a major hit for HBO and Max, with recent episodes breaking the series’ viewership records. The third season is heading towards its conclusion, with the finale set to premiere on April 5 — the longest episode of the series to date, clocking in at 90 minutes. The show currently sits in 10th place on the Nielsen streaming chart, trailing behind hits like Prime Video’s Reacher, Disney+’s Bluey, and Netflix’s Running Point. With this season wrapping up, fans are already wondering where the anthology series could take us next. And if recent trademark filings are anything to go by, the next destination might already be decided… País de poetas, aka Chile!
Where Will ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Be Set?

At the end of last month, around March 31, Home Box Office Inc. (HBO) filed a trademark application in Chile for products and services related to The White Lotus. The application was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Chile, the government’s official gazette managed by the Ministry of the Interior.
The White Lotus was renewed for a fourth season back in January, prior to the show’s third season premiere in February. Production on the show’s fourth season is currently being eyed for 2026, although no wider window is known, though if previous season production dates were to be taken into consideration, Season 4 could begin production as early as February 2026.
What Do We Know About HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4?

HBO EVP and Head of Drama series and films Francesca Orsi sat down with Deadline back in February to dish on the series’ fourth season renewal. Orsi teased that they were set to begin location scouting for the series next season within the next few weeks. Orsi also teased that the show’s next setting was eyeing to land somewhere in Europe. Of course, Chile is on a completely different continent, located within South America and quite far from Europe.
We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon. I can’t really say where we’re going to land but chances are somewhere in Europe.” – Francesca Orsi
At the same time, during February, The White Lotus was widely rumoured to be filming its fourth season in Norway, operating under the production title Secret Garden. Norwegian media linked the project to the hit Max series after creator Mike White was listed as both writer and director, with several White Lotus producers also named in official documentation. The production had applied for funding through Norway’s incentive scheme, requesting support for a shoot valued at nearly 800 million Norwegian kroner (approximately $73 million USD). Despite being offered 88 million kroner (around $8 million USD) in reimbursement, the team ultimately turned down the funding. According to the Norwegian Film Institute, it’s common for large international productions to consider multiple locations before settling on one, suggesting that Season 4 may have shifted away from Norway during pre-production.
A Departure from the Four Seasons Tradition?

Orsi followed up that quote by confirming that nothing was set in stone until the team could actually begin location scouting.
“Some countries on the map that we talked about, but nothing to report on until they actually go locations scouting.”
