Whilst arguably the biggest category of the 2025 Oscars night will be those contending for the title of Best Picture, this year’s category for Best Animated Feature is looking to be quite the competition, with a variety of animation mediums eyeing the top prize. Whether it’s computer-animated Inside Out 2, claymation duo of Memoir of a Snail and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl or a completely independent production like Flow.

Where To Stream ‘Flow’

Flow tells the story of Cat, a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. The film has already won numerous prestigious awards, including Best Animated Film at the 37th European Film Awards, the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and the 82nd Golden Globe Awards – next, Flow hopes to solidify its awards campaign at the 2025 Oscars with an Academy Award.
Flow is currently available on digital in the US, with no streaming release set. Audiences in the UK, however, will have to wait until after Awards Season for Flow to release in UK cinemas on March 21.
Where To Stream ‘Inside Out 2’

The highest-grossing film of 2024 and highest-grossing animated film of all time, Inside Out 2 is nominated for Best Animated Feature and will be hoping to follow up the success of its predecessor Inside Out and snatch the Oscar once again. Inside Out 2 made records when it outgrossed The Lion King (2019) earlier this year.
Inside Out 2 is now available to stream on Disney+ worldwide.
Where To Stream ‘Memoir of a Snail’

After a series of misfortunes, a snail-collecting, melancholic misfit learns how to find confidence within herself amid the clutter of everyday life. The Australian stop-motion animated film bolsters an all-star voice cast of Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jacki Weaver and Eric Bana and will be hoping to turn heads with a win at the 97th Academy Awards.
Memoir of a Snail is currently streaming on AMC+ in the US, with a UK theatrical release date set for February 14.
Where To Stream ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’

Another nominee at the 2025 Oscars is the latest Aardman joint, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Ahead of its release, we said the film “feels familiar yet fresh, delivering wheels of laughter and wedges of fun proving to be an absolute delight”. The film’s co-director, Nick Park is no stranger to an Academy Award, having four awards to his name, including Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit which won Best Animated Feature in 2006, beating the likes of Corpse Bride and Howl’s Moving Castle to the top prize.
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is currently available to watch on Netflix worldwide. Audiences in the UK can currently watch Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl on BBC iPlayer, with the film set to debut on Netflix in the UK at some point later this year.
Where To Stream ‘The Wild Robot’

Based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Peter Brown, The Wild Robot tells the story of a robot named Roz (Lupita Nyong’o), who must learn to adapt to its new surroundings. Building relationships with the native animals, Roz soon develops a parental bond with an orphaned gosling. The film also features a strong supporting cast featuring the likes of Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, and more.
The Wild Robot is now streaming on Peacock in the US, with a release on Sky Cinema and NOW in the UK expected at some point later this year.
