Rafe Spall has joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television series, with the actor set to play Arthur Weasley in the show’s second season.
HBO has also announced Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey, further expanding the cast ahead of Season 2.
Three New Characters Join ‘Harry Potter’ Season 2
Spall will take on the role of Arthur Weasley, father of the Weasley family and a longtime employee of the Ministry of Magic.
Molly Hewitt-Richards has been cast as Hogwarts ghost Moaning Myrtle, while Jasper Ambrose will play Colin Creevey, the enthusiastic young Gryffindor student introduced during Harry’s second year at Hogwarts.
The three additions join a growing group of actors already announced for the programme’s second season.
Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart, alongside Lenny Rush as Dobby and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle. HBO has also listed Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley among its newly announced Season 2 cast.
Who Is In The ‘Harry Potter’ Cast?
The series is led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
John Lithgow stars as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
Other previously announced cast members include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.

The television adaptation is based on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novels and is being developed as a multi-season HBO series.
Francesca Gardiner serves as writer and executive producer, while Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes. The series is produced for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
