Asa Germann is set to join Marvel Studios’ X-Men as Warren Worthington III, better known as Angel.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the casting, revealing that the Gen V and Scream 7 actor had previously auditioned for another member of the mutant team before landing the role of Angel.
The upcoming Marvel Studios film is being directed by Jake Schreier and is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on May 5, 2028.
Who Is Asa Germann Playing In ‘X-Men’?
Germann will play Warren Worthington III, one of the original five X-Men created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Warren is a wealthy mutant whose large feathered wings give him the ability to fly. He begins his superhero career as Angel and later becomes Archangel after his wings are transformed by Apocalypse.
The character has previously appeared in live-action X-Men films, with Ben Foster playing Warren in X-Men: The Last Stand and Ben Hardy taking on the role in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Asa Germann Previously Auditioned For Cyclops
THR’s original report also reveals that Germann had previously tested for the role of Cyclops during Marvel’s casting process.
That role ultimately went to Kit Connor, but Germann remained in consideration for the film and has now been selected to play Angel instead.
Germann is best known for playing Sam Riordan in Prime Video’s Gen V. He also appeared in Scream 7.

The new X-Men cast is already taking shape following Marvel’s announcements at D23.
Kit Connor is set to play Cyclops, Sadie Sink plays Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott is Professor X, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette plays Rogue and Maya Boyd is Storm.
Adam Driver has also joined the film as the villain Mr. Sinister.
The project will bring the mutant team fully into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after years of individual mutant appearances and legacy X-Men characters appearing across the Multiverse Saga.

Marvel Studios’ X-Men is currently scheduled for release on May 5, 2028.
Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts*, is attached to direct, with Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo working on the screenplay.
