Apple TV has a busy October ahead, with new films, documentaries and returning series arriving throughout the month. From a high-altitude documentary and a globetrotting action movie to a returning German-language dark comedy and a new crime thriller, here are the Apple TV October 2026 highlights.
October 2: ‘The Last First: Winter K2’
The Last First: Winter K2 arrives on Apple TV on October 2.
The documentary follows a 2021 expedition attempting to achieve the first winter ascent of K2, focusing on Icelander John Snorri Sigurjónsson and Pakistani father-and-son climbers Ali and Sajid Sadpara.
Director Amir Bar-Lev examines not only the dangers of the mountain but also the changing culture of extreme climbing, including commercial expeditions, influencer climbers, money, power and the role of Sherpa teams.
October 9: ‘Matchbox The Movie’
Matchbox The Movie premieres globally on Apple TV on October 9.
Inspired by Mattel’s iconic toy line, the film stars John Cena as Sean, an undercover CIA agent whose return home pulls a group of childhood friends into an international mission.
Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris and Arturo Castro also star, with Sam Hargrave directing the action adventure.
October 16: ‘Tenzing’
Tenzing begins streaming on Apple TV on October 16, following select cinema screenings from October 9.
The film tells the story of Tenzing Norgay, who alongside Edmund Hillary became one of the first two people confirmed to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
Genden Phuntsok stars as Tenzing, with Tom Hiddleston as Hillary, Caitríona Balfe as Jill Henderson and Willem Dafoe as Colonel John Hunt. Jennifer Peedom directs.
October 21: ‘Where’s Wanda?’ Season 2
Apple’s German-language dark comedy Where’s Wanda? returns for Season 2 on October 21.
After the events of the first season, the Klatts are trying to return to normal life when Wanda is apparently caught standing over a dead body.
The eight-episode season launches with one episode before continuing weekly every Wednesday through December 9.
October 30: ‘Nocturne’
Nocturne closes out the month on October 30.
Liev Schreiber stars as Jonah Lynn, a former soldier turned homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia in search of a quieter life, only to become caught in the hunt for a serial killer threatening his family and community.
Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham also star. The ten-episode crime drama premieres with two episodes before continuing weekly every Friday through December 25.
What Else Is Continuing On Apple TV In October?
Several September releases will also continue throughout October.
Last Seen continues with new episodes until October 7, while Slow Horses Season 6 and Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson comedy Brothers will both have new episodes rolling out during the month.
