The magic continues as Wizards Beyond Waverly Place returns for a second season, premiering September 12 on Disney Channel and arriving on Disney+ from October 8. A sequel to the beloved Wizards of Waverly Place, the series blends new spells, old rivalries, and returning fan favourites, led by David Henrie and guest star Selena Gomez, who reprises her iconic role as Alex Russo.
Returning Favourites and Magical Guest Stars

This season, David Henrie reprises his role as Justin Russo, now a father and wizard mentor. He’s joined by returning cast Janice LeAnn Brown (Billie), Alkaio Thiele (Roman), Max Matenko (Milo), Taylor Cora (Winter), and Mimi Gianopulos (Giada).
Gomez, who also serves as executive producer, appears in a guest-starring role as Alex Russo. She’s joined by a slate of guest stars including Freya Skye (ZOMBIES 4), Harvey Guillén, Kirsten Vangsness, Recker Eans, Tobias Jelinek, Patrick Bristow, and Eleanor Sweeney.
Nostalgia is strong this season, with beloved characters from the original series making appearances: Mr. Laritate (Bill Chott), Mantooth (Sean Whalen), and a special Christmas episode cameo from Amanda Tepe, known for multiple characters in the original run.
What’s ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Season 2 About?

Things get even messier for the Russo family in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 2. Billie is still adjusting to her place in the magical bloodline—but now she’s not the only kid with powers. With Roman and Milo unlocking their abilities, Justin suddenly finds himself mentoring three young wizards, all competing for the Family Wizard title. As tensions rise at home, a dangerous new force threatens the Russos from the shadows.
Behind the scenes, the series is helmed by writers and executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, with Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Selena Gomez, and David Henrie also executive producing for Disney Branded Television. The original Wizards of Waverly Place was created by Todd Greenwald.
