Disney+ has released the first teaser trailer and key art for The Real Rooneys, its upcoming documentary series following Wayne Rooney and Coleen Rooney and their family.
The 10-episode Hulu Original series from the UK will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 24, offering unprecedented access to the Rooneys during what the streamer describes as a pivotal year in their lives.
Episodes 1–8 will be available to stream at launch, followed by two special episodes on October 1.
‘The Real Rooneys’ Offers A New Look At Wayne And Coleen Rooney
The Real Rooneys follows Wayne and Coleen as their lives enter a period of significant change.
After stepping away from football management, Wayne swaps life on the touchline for school runs and spending more time at home. Coleen, meanwhile, embraces some of the biggest opportunities of her career, including designing her own collection for Primark.
The series will also explore the realities of married life and raising their four sons, alongside eldest son Kai Rooney’s attempts to pursue his own career in football.
Disney+ says the documentary will include personal revelations, major career moments, family celebrations and holidays, taking viewers from the family’s home in Cheshire to Barbados and the Alps.
The newly released teaser promises a side of the family that audiences have not previously seen, with the Rooneys saying: “No one knows the real Rooneys. This is a side of us we’ve never shown before.”

The first eight episodes of The Real Rooneys will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 24.
Two additional special episodes will then be released on October 1, bringing the series to a total of 10 episodes.
The documentary is executive produced by Julian Bird, Paul Stretford and Ashley Smith for Lorton Entertainment, alongside Danny Horan and Tanya Winston for Blast Films.
Martin Webb serves as series director, with Nonuk Walter as showrunner. The series was commissioned in the UK by Sean Doyle, Vice President of Unscripted for Disney+.
