The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is finally set to make his full return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again brings Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk in an all-new Disney+ series. From release dates and plot details to the cast, writing team, and episode count, here’s everything we know so far about this highly anticipated Marvel series.
When Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Be Released?

Daredevil: Born Again is set to release on March 4, 2025. This will mark the second major Marvel release of the year, following the release of the long-anticipated Captain America: Brave New World, which will arrive in theaters on February 14, 2025, and sees Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson/Captain America going toe-to-toe with Harrison Ford‘s Thunderbolt Ross aka. Red Hulk.
The show will have a weekly release with new episodes arriving every Tuesday. The season consists of 9 episodes and will run until April 29, 2025.
What Is The Plot For ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?

According to the official synopsis, in Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
Who Is In The ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Cast?

According to the show’s press release, a number of stars are set to reprise their prior roles from Daredevil – Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson return to play Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, who alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt give our core ensemble. Jon Bernthal returns as the murderous vigilante Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Another returning actor is Mohan Kapur, who will reprise his Ms. Marvel role as Mr Khan, Kamala’s father.
Another returning actor is Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, Wilson’s wife. Sandrine Holt was originally cast to replace Zurer, who portrayed the character in Daredevil, before the series’ creative overhaul. Wilson Bethel will reprise his Season 3 role Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter too.
Other castings include Zabryna Guevara, who appears as a character named Sheila Rivera, Nikki M. James is set to play Kirsten McDuffie, whilst Genneya Walton has been cast BB Urich, who is described as a young journalist. Fans of the original series will be familiar with the Urich family name.
Margarita Levieva will portray Heather Glenn, a brief love interest to Matt Murdock from the comics, who first appeared in Daredevil #126 (July 1975). Arty Froushan stars as Buck Cashman, whilst Clark Johnson appears as a character currently only known as Cherry. Lastly, The Many Saints of Newark star Michael Gandolfini is set to appear as Daniel Blade.
Who Is Writing ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?

According to the show’s press release, Dario Scardapane is the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again. Scardapane returns to the MCU, after writing four episodes for, and executive producing The Punisher. Scardapane’s credits for Daredevil: Born Again includes Episode 1, as well as Episode 8, which he co-wrote with Jesse Wigutow, and Episode 9, which he co-wrote with Heather Bellson.
Other writing credits have been confirmed by the Writer’s Guild of America. Episode 2 is penned by Matt Corman and Chris Ord — both were originally attached as head writers for the series before the complete overhaul of the narrative. The pair previously worked together on Covert Affairs and The Enemy Within. Episode 3 is written by Jill Blankenship, who has also written the series’ seventh episode. Blankenship’s most recent writing credit is The CW’s Naomi.
Episode 4 is co-written by David Feige and Jesse Wigutow. Feige has offered a lot of legal-inspired knowledge towards shows he’s received producer credit for in the past, including CBS’ Drop Dead Diva and Doubt. Grainne Godfree lends her writing talent to Episode 5, whilst Thomas Wong has written Episode 6. Godfree is no stranger to comic book television, having written over 65 episodes of The CW’s The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow combined.
Who Is Directing ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?

According to the show’s press release, episodes are directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd.
Benson & Moorhead return to the MCU after their work on Moon Knight and Loki Season 2. The duo were recruited to direct the remaining episodes of the show after the creative overhaul, though it is currently unknown how many directing credits they will receive. Cuesta, Boyd and Nachmanoff are all credited directors for their work from before the series’ overhaul.
Is There A Trailer For ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?
The first public trailer for Daredevil: Born Again was released on January 15, 2025.
It was implied that the release of the trailer had been delayed, with recent LA fires being cited as a reason for the delayed release, confirmed by star Vincent D’Onofrio in a post on X/Twitter, after it was revealed that Daredevil: Born Again will have the shortest length of time between the first trailer releasing and the series premiere date – which is 49 days.
Ahead of the first official trailer, footage from the show had been publicly released – a sizzle reel for Disney+’s 2025 Marvel slate gave us our first official look (though limited) at the series, you can watch it below:
Where Can I Stream ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?

Daredevil: Born Again is set to stream exclusively on Disney+. The highly anticipated series premieres on March 4, 2025. Also streaming on Disney+ is the full roster of titles from the The Defenders universe:

The interconnected universe of Netflix titles have since been confirmed as canon, by star Vincent D’Onofrio. It was always ambiguously canon, then considered non-canon. This reboot is now fully part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and with the return of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, officially canonizes Netflix’s various The Defenders series, which are all now available to stream on Disney+.
