‘A Proud Family Wizmas’ Trailer Unveils Disney+ Stop-Motion Christmas Special

    Josh Martin-JonesBy Josh Martin-JonesNovember 7, 2026

Disney+ has unveiled the trailer for A Proud Family Wizmas, a stop-motion Christmas special that sends Penny Proud on an unlikely mission to rescue the holiday after an argument with Santa gets out of hand. The musical instalment arrives on Saturday, 14 November 2026, and reunites much of the original series’ voice cast, led by Kyla Pratt as Penny.

It is a departure from the familiar look of The Proud Family. Rather than presenting a conventional animated episode of Louder and Prouder, the new production recreates Penny, her relatives and their neighbours as physical stop-motion characters. The trailer puts that distinctive style at the centre of a story designed specifically for Christmas, with new music and a sizeable guest cast.

What Happens In The ‘A Proud Family Wizmas’ Trailer?

Christmas Eve takes an unexpected turn when Penny’s frustration with the commercialisation of the holiday prompts Santa to walk away from the job. With celebrations suddenly in jeopardy, the teenager finds herself taking responsibility for the mess and, ultimately, stepping into Santa’s boots. Joined by his elves, Penny heads out to restore Christmas for the children of Emilyville and everyone beyond it.

The trailer also offers a closer look at the special’s textured sets and puppets, from the familiar Proud household to a series of elaborate festive environments. The visual treatment is more than a seasonal filter over the existing series: the characters have been adapted to a different animation medium, giving the production a distinct identity within the franchise.

Bruce W. Smith, who created The Proud Family, directs the special, with fellow executive producer Ralph Farquhar writing the script and David Brooks co-directing. Portland-based stop-motion studio HouseSpecial worked on the animation, while returning composer and songwriter Kurt Farquhar contributes to a soundtrack featuring six original songs.

Pratt is joined by returning performers Tommy Davidson as Oscar, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby. The guest line-up includes Anderson .Paak as Mall Elf, Lil Rel Howery as Bubble and JB Smoove as Mall Santa, while Gabrielle Union reprises the role of Talia Rogue. Other guests include Karlous Miller, Tone Loc, Earthquake, Luenell and Affion Crockett.

When Is ‘A Proud Family Wizmas’ Coming To Disney+?

A Proud Family Wizmas premieres on Disney+ on Saturday, 14 November 2026. The special stands apart from the main series, so viewers do not need to wait for another season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder to watch it. For those revisiting the franchise, the original The Proud Family, its revival and The Proud Family Movie are also available through the streaming service.

Disney confirmed the release date, full principal cast and production team in its official trailer announcement.
