Netflix has announced The One About Matthew Perry, a new three-part documentary series exploring the life and legacy of Matthew Perry.
The series premieres on October 27, 2026 and features testimony from people who knew Perry personally, including his sister Mia Perry Bowick and some of his closest lifelong friends.
It will also include unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family’s private archive, offering a more personal look at the man behind Chandler Bing and his work on Friends.

The One About Matthew Perry is designed as an intimate portrait of Perry’s life, following his rise to global fame while also exploring the personal battles he spoke openly about throughout his career.
The three-part series combines firsthand memories from friends and creative collaborators with family archive material to examine both Perry’s public success and the parts of his life that remained private.
Netflix describes the documentary as a look at the real Matthew Perry: funny, generous, vulnerable and larger than life, while also addressing the struggles that shaped his life and advocacy.

How Is Matthew Perry’s Family Involved?
Perry’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick, contributes never-before-heard testimony to the series.
The documentary also draws on previously unreleased photographs and videos from the Perry family’s archive, allowing those closest to him to tell parts of his story in their own words.
Bowick has said the project gave her the opportunity to share memories of her brother as a whole person rather than reducing his legacy solely to either Chandler Bing or his struggles with addiction.

The series is directed by Emmy winner Mary Robertson.
Robertson also serves as an executive producer alongside Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman.
