Mortal Kombat II will begin streaming on HBO Max in the UK and Ireland on Friday, 24 July 2026.
The New Line Cinema sequel will make its global streaming debut on the platform following its theatrical release, bringing Johnny Cage and several returning champions into the battle for Earthrealm.
Directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, Mortal Kombat II follows the fighters as they face Shao Kahn, whose rule threatens Earthrealm and its defenders.
The film stars Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada.
An ASL Version of ‘Mortal Kombat II’ is coming to HBO Max

An American Sign Language version of the film will also stream exclusively on HBO Max from the same date. The version is performed by ASL dubber Justin Perez and directed by Rosa Lee Timm, using Visual Vernacular to convey the film’s action through sign language, mime, facial expressions and body movements.
