Rihanna is officially back on the soundtrack scene. The global icon has released her brand-new single “Friend of Mine”, the latest track from the upcoming Smurfs movie soundtrack, available now via Roc Nation Distribution.
The track comes ahead of the full Smurfs soundtrack, which drops on June 13 and is now available to pre-order and pre-save. Rihanna, who also stars as Smurfette in the animated reboot, lends her vocals both to the film and to this emotional, feel-good anthem—marking another high moment for the pop icon.

“Friend of Mine” follows the previously released track “Higher Love” by DESI TRILL, featuring DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania, and Subhi. That track debuted alongside an official video and gave fans a taste of the genre-bending sounds shaping the film’s soundtrack.
Adding even more star power, a brand-new track by Tyla is also confirmed to feature on the album.
When Does ‘Smurfs’ Release?

Smurfs hits cinemas on July 18, 2025, bringing the blue crew into the real world in an epic, music-fuelled adventure. When evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel take Papa Smurf (voiced by John Goodman), the Smurfs embark on a mission to the real world to save him. With help from some new friends, they must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.
Directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third) and written by Pam Brady (South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut), the animated reboot promises heart, humour, and a stacked voice cast that includes James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Marshmello, Kurt Russell, and many more.
