The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when empires were built, but no victory came without sacrifice. Following the Opera War, the old guard is weakened and the Russells stand poised to take their place at the head of society. Bertha sets her sights on a prize that would elevate the family to unimaginable heights while George risks everything on a gambit that could revolutionise the railroad industry – if it doesn’t ruin him first. Across the street, the Brook household is thrown into chaos as Agnes refuses to accept Ada’s new position as lady of the house. Peggy meets a handsome doctor from Newport whose family is less than enthusiastic about her career. As all of New York hastens toward the future, their ambition may come at the cost of what they truly hold dear.

No need for the ferry… join the party at Seaclose Park as Sky gives you an access-all-areas backstage pass to the summer’s hottest ticket – The Isle of Wight Festival 2025. You can enjoy all the musical fun from the comfort of your own sofa as this year’s headliners – including the incomparable Sting, the immortal Stereophonics, and the Prince of Pop himself, Justin Timberlake – take to the main stage. But that’s not all – you can also expect incredible sets from Faithless, The Corrs, The Script, Paul Heaton, Busted, Razorlight, Jess Glynne, Texas, Olly Murs, Clean Bandit, Supergrass and James, just to name a few of the artists on the card.

‘Flight 149: Hostage of War’

Flight 149: Hostage of War recounts one of the most extraordinary – and until recently, officially denied – chapters of the Gulf War.

On August 2, 1990, just after Saddam’s forces storm Kuwait, a civilian flight unwittingly touches down in the middle of the warzone. The passengers and crew find themselves trapped, held as hostages by Saddam Hussein, becoming pawns in a rapidly escalating international crisis that will reshape the Middle East. For over three decades, the British government denied any prior knowledge of the invasion before the plane’s ill-fated landing. Now, new information has come to light to challenge the official narrative and the surviving hostages are taking the British government and BA to court to seek justice and the truth.

Featuring powerful firsthand testimonies from the key players, including the surviving hostages, Kuwaiti resistance fighters, investigative journalist Stephen Davis, and political insiders, ‘Flight 149: Hostage of War’ is an unflinching exploration of a geopolitical scandal, decades in the making.

‘100 Foot Wave’ – Season 3

The adrenaline-filled series closely follows these extreme athletes’ drive and passion, with cameras by their side for the highs and lows of their lives – the doubts and tragedies, the euphoria and triumphs, the life-changing decisions, the fears that haunt them and the challenges that fuel them.
